We are delighted to announce that we have extended our partnership with the R&A for The Open, golf’s original championship and AIG Women’s Open. This will see Loch Lomond Whiskies continue as the Official Spirit of The Open for the next five years.
When our partnership began in 2018, it united two of Scotland’s greatest gifts to the world – golf and whisky. Since then, the support of golf fans and whisky aficionados has seen the global profile of Loch Lomond Whiskies go from strength to strength.
We have also developed our exceptional range of golf-inspired whiskies and built on our partnerships with top golfers and industry personalities such as Colin Montgomerie, Lee Westwood, and Iona Stephen.
In tribute to the upcoming tournament, we have released our Loch Lomond Special Edition and Loch Lomond Open Course Collection. Both have been crafted using our unique Straight Neck pot stills, which shape our whisky’s distinctively fruity notes. Both these exceptional single malts were recently awarded the top Double Gold Award at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2023. They are a fitting tribute to an iconic tournament that we are proud to be the Official Spirit of for the coming years.
The partnership also includes the introduction of Ben Lomond Gin (our sister brand) as the “Official Gin of The Open” and AIG Women’s British Open.
To mark the occasion, they will be releasing an Open Special Edition Gin, inspired by the course that will host The Open. A homage to Royal Liverpool, the first Ben Lomond Open Special Edition includes wild botanicals such as Sea Buckthorn, Yarrow and Rosehip creating a gin that is as enthralling as the course itself.
