Combining peated spirit collected at low strength from our Straight Neck stills with both peated and unpeated distillates from our Swan Neck stills, this expression brings together layers of fruit and rich smoke, showcasing the delicate art of uniting distinct distillate styles. After initial maturation in a variety of American Oak casks, the whisky is finished in first-fill Rioja red wine casks, enhancing its rich fruit character while deepening the soft, smoky complexity.

Tasting Notes

NOSE

This whisky opens with aromas of woodsmoke, malty biscuit and redcurrant fruit.

TASTE

On the palate, sweet honey and soft fruits of peach and pear combine with dark chocolate and a touch of orange citrus.

FINISH

The finish is medium in length, with lingering smoke and a gentle richness.

Extremely well packaged and the little note inside to say which member of the team had packaged it was a nice touch. Delivery was fast and on time too so thats a huge plus. The whisky itself is superb and may take over the number one spot as my favourite malt. Nice and peaty without the peat killing your pallete and being able to enjoy anything else. It still holds true to the original but with the sweetness from the rioja cask coming through with those chocolately notes. This is the 3rd loch lomond expression I've had now and is my favourite. The team know what they are doing when it comes to creating whisky. Looking forward to trying a new expression soon!

Very good alternative to the original. On the nose loads of vanilla and fruit some light smoke and a hint of black and red currants. Tastes of blackberries, pear,honey and chocolate with light spice and smoke. Would recommend,this is my second bottle.
